The Panamanian Foundation for the Promotion of Mathematics (FUNDAPROMAT) and the Gathering 4 Gardner Foundation (G4G) welcome you to join our Celebration of Mind: Discovering Mathematics Through Magic, which will take place on Thursday, October 1st, 2026 at 5 pm Panama time, 6 pm EDT.
This Webinar is free and open to the general public, which means that kids and adults of all ages are welcome to attend. Derrick Chung, mathematician by day and magician by night, Professor of Mathematics at John Abbott College in Montreal, Canada, will share a simple but forgotten card trick that will lead us on a journey exploring connections between mathematics and magic.
Along the way we’ll learn some basic number theory AND what makes a good trick. Join us with your own deck of cards to follow along! The instructions to access this Webinar will be sent by email the day before the event to all those who register.
